General FAQ
What’s the deal with Pastry School?

We know that if you love PUFF then you are probably pretty into your pastries. And since we can’t pop-up RN, we want to get into the kitchen with you and share our favourite techniques. So, we’re launching a series of online classes to teach you how to make beautiful pastries at home

How do I sign up?
Head to our course hub - click here!

Can I gift this course?
Yes you can - Pastry Vol 1 and Pastry Vol 1 are both available as gift courses - make sure you’re sure which level your recipient is at and check out all the info here

Are you able to give substitutions for dietary requirements?
We get it - everyone has different dietary requirements. This course is designed to teach you the foundations of pastry skills. This means teaching the theory and techniques of things like eggs and gluten. Unfortunately there’s just no substitutions in some cases. If you’re not sure and want to check whether this course is still suitable, please email us & we’ll be real with you!

Can I just buy one week/a recipe from one week?
Yes you can! We are making a few lessons/modules available as standalone courses. At the moment we have the Basque Cheesecake available and Dough Week from Vol. 1 available.

It’s not working for me…. Can I get a refund? Babes, of course you can. Just send us an email and let us know and we’ll sort you out ASAP! We got you: pastryschool@puffthebakery.co.uk

Pastry Vol 1 FAQ
When does it start?
Anytime you like! Once you’ve signed up to the course, its yours LITERALLY FOREVER! There’s no pressure to cook along week-to-week and you can dip in whenever you have time. You can stream the videos & access the recipes anytime and we’re around to help you on email M-F, so you don’t need to worry about falling behind.

What equipment do I need?
OK, we’re gonna be real with you – we are lucky enough to both have KitchenAids at home so we will be using these to do a bit of the heavy lifting.  BUT, rest assured we’re going to show you how to get the same results without a stand mixer. For Pastry Vol 1, here’s our kit list to get you going.

I’m running behind schedule and don’t have time to bake this week. What should I do?
We’ve built this course so you can do it in your own time. Although we’re uploading it week-to-week, you can stop & start at your own pace. If you want to skip a certain recipe, you OFC can, but bear in mind that the course will use techniques that you learn right at the start for the whole of the 8 weeks.

Is the course suitable for vegetarians? Yes. Though we do use gelatine we give you alternatives where possible

Pastry Vol 2 FAQ
When is Pastry Volume 2 coming?
Classes for Pastry Volume 2 will start 20 July

Do I need to complete vol 1 before vol 2?
Not necessarily, if you are a competent baker and can tick off everything listed in the Vol 2 skill check (going live soon), you will be fine! Please note that we will not be covering those techniques extensively in vol 2, they are fully covered in vol 1.

I’ve completed vol 1 but i’m still not sure I will be up to scratch for vol 2. HELP!
Just remember that once you have access to the courses they are yours for reference forever. So if you’re in vol 2 and something doesn’t make sense you can always refer back to vol 1 to recap. Remember, the recipe guide covers written theory and the videos show the practical skills! Also don’t forget that we are here to answer any of your questions through the week, simply send us an email hun.

I want to join vol 2 live but i’m still completing vol 1…
Come on then! The materials are yours to complete in your own time so if you want to do juggle both that’s totally fine and very fun. Dip in and out as you wish.

Is there a bundle deal? Yes! The best deal is our presale price for vol 2 + vol 1. After the pre-sale week you will be able to buy both courses in one payment but the price for vol 2 will go back to it’s regular price.

Can we do a split payment?
The split payment option is open strictly for the first week!

How does the Q&A work? For every new course, we will host a live Q&A. If you’re not in the first run of students, you can always submit questions to us through the course website and we will always do our best to diagnose your issues AND resolve any kitchen mysteries you might have. More info on this on the Volume 2 page going live soon

Is the course suitable for vegetarians? Yes. There is very little gelatine in Volume 2.
